or labouring to labour the point
with democratic dim ad-libs
you better keep your views to yourself
‘cause no one likes a clever dick.
Make no mistake, there’s no give or take
when it comes to personal politics.

Singing from the same hymn sheet
doesn’t mean you’re singing the same song.
Like religion, personal politics
is all about being left too long
and still being right when you are wrong.

She’d always disliked the wet months
sometimes whipping up a storm
with a tendency to being blue
while seeing red and giving warning

to anyone who might explain
or question others’ attitudes.
