Here we are on a ship, we’re adrift, just going nowhere
on the high seas, you and me and neither of us swim.

But the life boats are in place and the cabin crew are here,
so let’s just believe we’re safe and breathe the air.

Well we’re here, on a plane in the air with the sea below us.
High, you and I, we’re quite scared ‘cause neither of us fly.
Birds of a feather don’t live forever
So what if we die together - what a way to go.

Well here we are on a train, border bound - there’s just the tunnel now
but it’s dark and it’s long and underneath the sea.
Nevermind we’re almost there - not too far till we unpack
then it’s two weeks till we have to think about the journey back.

Now here we are traveling far in this car we rented on the cheap
which might explain all the pain that we’re now going through.
Should have got the bus, far less fuss, just relax, enjoy the view
if you can shut out the noise of all the other passengers.

But there’s only so much you can do, so many places to go to,
so many pictures you can take, so many memories you can make
and though the travel bug once bit maybe it’s time for us to quit
and if we get the urge to roam we can time-travel from our home.

Well here we are back at the start, journey’s end - no need to go away again.
We’re happy here in our house - maybe we’ll go camping at weekends.
No regrets, we won’t forget all the places - all the new friends.
We travelled far but here we are - it was good while it lasted.
